The History of The Israeli Occupation of Palestine:

The decades-long struggle of Palestinians began when Zionist Jews started immigrating to Palestine, with the goal of establishing their own Jewish state by erasing Palestinians from their land. In 1948 Israeli militias violently kicked out over 75% of the Palestinian population from their homes to create Israel on stolen land. The homes of Palestinians were (and still are) invaded, displacing over 700,000 of them just in 1948.

Human rights violations:

The human rights violations committed by the Israeli government against Palestinians is inhumane and needs to be seen. The Israeli Defensive Forces continue to dehumanize Palestinians everyday, stripping them of every human right anyone should deserve.

House Demolitions - Israeli authorities have demolished thousands of Palestinian homes and structures, often without any warning. Leaving Palestinians homeless and without shelter.

Land confiscations- Israel has confiscated large amounts of Palestinian land in the West Bank and East Jerusalem for the construction of settlements and military infrastructure, as well as for the construction of Israel's separation barrier. This has resulted in the displacement of Palestinian communities, loss of livelihoods, and restriction of movement.

Arbitrary arrests and detention - Palestinians are often arrested and detained by Israeli authorities without charge or trial, and are subjected to ill-treatment and torture in custody for just being Palestinian. Children as young as 12 years old have been detained and subjected to this treatment.

Movement restriction - Israel imposes a system of movement restrictions on Palestinians, including the use of checkpoints, roadblocks, and permit systems. This severely limits their freedom of movement and access to essential services such as healthcare and education.

Daily violence and assaults - Israeli settlers carry out acts of violence against Palestinians, including assaults, harassment, and property damage. This year, just days after brutally assaulting Palestinians gathered at al aqsa mosque for ramadan prayers, Israel bombed Gaza, the already struggling city.

Violence Occurrences:

There have been many incidents to show Israel’s violence, but this is a small glimpse of what Palestinians have endured for the past 75 years. Some recent violations have been:

● Brutal attacks at the Al-Aqsa mosque as soon as the holy month of Ramadan begins

● Imprisoning of Palestinians

● Destroying Christian graveyards on Easter

● Spraying pesticides in Gaza to destroy crops

● Contaminating the air and water in Gaza with chemicals

● Forcing Palestinians out of their homes

● Regularly burning olive trees to intimidate Palestinians

Impact on Palestinians:

The ongoing occupation by Israel has had a significant impact on the daily lives of Palestinians. Palestinians face limited access to essential services such as healthcare education and clean water. Israeli checkpoints purposely make it difficult for Palestinians to travel to hospitals or schools, and restrictions on movement prevent people from accessing these essential services.

Gaza - devastating affects of the Israeli blockade:

●Currently, there are 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, while Israel refuses to let them leave to seek safety as it bombs buildings and schools. The health of Palestinians in Gaza is at its utmost low as they struggle with:

● Access to clean water and electricity-Access to clean water is a major issue in the occupied territories, particularly in Gaza where the population is largely dependent on a limited supply of groundwater. The ongoing conflict has damaged water infrastructure, and restrictions on the import of materials necessary for repair and maintenance have hampered efforts to improve the situation. As a result, many Palestinians are forced to rely on contaminated or inadequate water sources, leading to a range of health problems.

● Malnutrition- More than 1 in 3 children in Gaza suffer from stunted growth due to malnutrition. It's largely a result of the ongoing blockade and restrictions on goodssuch as food.

● Access to medical care-Palestinians, especially in Gaza often face limited access to healthcare due to restrictions on movement and access to medical facilities. Israeli checkpoints and barriers can make it difficult for Palestinians to reach hospitals and clinics, particularly in emergency situations. In addition, the ongoing occupation has resulted in a shortage of medical supplies and personnel, further limiting access to essential healthcare services.

● Chronic diseases- weapons used by Israel's military have contaminated the air and water in Gaza with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, infertility, and

more.

● Mental health concerns - The mental health of the people in Gaza is extremely

deteriorating as they've been subject to trauma their whole lives. over 5,000 children in palestine have had a parent or family member imprisoned by israeli forces.

● Education- Palestinian children face numerous obstacles to accessing educationsuch as access to schools and frequent school closures due to violence. In addition, many schools are overcrowded and lack basic resources such as textbooks and classroom materials. This has a significant impact on the quality of education that Palestinian children receive, and can limit their opportunities for future success.

2022 was the West bank and Gaza’s deadliest year since the UN began tracking violence.

The Continued Expansion of Israeli Settlements:

●Israel won’t stop there, they have continued to expand settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem while their territory increases over the years.

● Territories captured by Israel are considered illegal under international law including the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from transferring its civilian population into the territory it occupies.

Israel not only transfers itself into the territories, but violently kicks out Palestinians as they demolish homes and destroy their livelihood.
